Privacy Policy

The Gifts of Grief ("we," "us") is a small, care-led project. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

  • Stories you submit — the title, summary, body, optional category, and the name (or anonymous label) you choose to attach to it.
  • Contact details you choose to share — your email address, only if you provide it (it is never required and never published).
  • Contact form messages — your name, email, and message when you write to us via the Contact Us page.
  • Basic technical data — standard server logs necessary to operate the site (no third-party advertising trackers).

How we use it

  • To review and, where appropriate, publish the story you shared.
  • To send you a confirmation, and (only if you opted in) a notice when your story is published.
  • To respond to questions, removal requests, and other contact-form messages.
  • To keep the site running and protect it from abuse.

Email

Transactional emails (confirmations, story-published notices, replies to contact messages) are sent from noreply@thegiftsofgrief.com. We do not send marketing emails. Every transactional email includes an unsubscribe link.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent your information. We only share data with the service providers required to run the website (hosting, database, email delivery). Published stories appear publicly on this site, attributed only to the name (or "Anonymous") you chose.

Your choices

  • You may request removal of a story at any time via the Contact Us page.
  • You may unsubscribe from any email we send using the link in that email.
  • You can choose to remain fully anonymous when submitting a story.

Children

The Gifts of Grief is not intended for use by children under 13. Please do not submit stories on behalf of a child without parental consent.
