Last updated: May 13, 2026
By using The Gifts of Grief, you agree to the following terms. They are written in plain language and exist to keep the space safe and respectful.
Using the site
The Gifts of Grief is provided for personal, non-commercial reading and reflection. You agree not to misuse the site, scrape content for commercial purposes, or attempt to disrupt its operation.
Submitting stories
When you submit a story, you confirm that it is your original work and that you have the right to share it. You grant The Gifts of Grief a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to publish, reproduce, edit for clarity, and share your story across our website, social media, marketing materials, and print or digital publications.
Stories are attributed to the name you provide, or marked "Anonymous" if you leave the name field blank. Any contact information you provide remains private. No monetary compensation is offered for submissions.
All submissions are reviewed with care before publication. We may decline stories that contain hateful content, threats, identifying information about others without their consent, or material that violates these terms.
Removal requests
You may request removal of your story at any time via the Contact Us page. We will honor removal from this site, but we cannot guarantee removal from previously distributed materials (for example, printed newsletters that have already been mailed).
Not professional advice
The stories and resources on this site are personal reflections. They are not a substitute for professional medical, mental-health, or crisis support. If you are in crisis, please use the resources on our Resources page or call/text 988 (US Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above will reflect any changes.
